It is with much regret that I announce my resignation as co-chair of the Alabama Statesmen/Boston Tea Party Alabama. I recently moved to South Carolina and do not feel it appropriate to continue in my position as co-chair of the BTP Alabama.
I wish Jonathan the best of luck, I have granted him admin privilege over this blog and will remove myself as an author.
In Liberty,
Darryl W. Perry

Help oppose HB116
The "grocery tax bill" is likely to go to the House floor for a vote Thursday, February 26!
We need to fight this. While it will remove the sales tax from food, this would remove the "federal income tax exemption" from the State income tax; and become a net tax INCREASE for any family making over $40,000/year. Encourage your Senator and Representative to introduce a bill to remove the sales tax without shifting the tax burden, but instead REDUCES SPENDING.
There are four easy things you can do to help:
• First, please make sure to contact your representative.

http://www.legislature.state.al.us/senate/senators/senateroster_alpha.html
• Consider e-mailing Gov. Bob Riley
http://www.governor.alabama.gov/contact/contact_form.aspx
• Also consider calling the House switchboard at (334) 242-7600 and leave a message asking your representative to vote NO on HB 116.
• Encourage your friends and family to do the same by sharing this information.
Please immediately urge your representative to vote NO on HB 116!
