Luckily, Alabama doesn't put a time limit on when new parties can collect signatures for Ballot Access.
You are encouraged to download and print the petition and collect signatures. We need nearly 60,000 to get on the ballot.

Membership
As the party is new, growing membership is a concern. To present, the only "official" way to join the party was via the forum, which has been taken down. However, there is now a "Membership form". To join simply copy and paste the form http://alstatesmen.org/membership.html and email it to DWP2016@DWP2016.org
You can also print a .pdf version of the form from http://alstatesmen.org/membership.pdf
You may mail the form to:

Alabama Statesmen get publicity via LTE in Birmingham News

GOP opposes individual liberties:
A recent letter writer's statement that Republican states should be shown on election maps as blue states because the GOP holds more dear than other parties "true-blue American values like individual liberty and all 10 (amendments) of the Bill of Rights" couldn't be farther from the truth.
Has the letter writer paid any attention to the news in the past few years? Traditional Republican opposition to same-sex marriage, assisted suicide and reproductive rights are great examples of the GOP's opposition to individual liberties.
The Bush administration's warrantless wiretapping, suspension of habeas corpus for "enemy combatants" and other Patriot Act legislation essentially take the Fourth Amendment and stomp on due process for American citizens and completely ignore international laws for treatment of prisoners of war and detainees of foreign wars.
The letter writer's analysis of Democratic economic policy is also off the mark. In the modern era of presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, Republicans have nearly tripled the national debt, while modern Democrats like Bill Clinton operated on a budget that ended in a $5 billion surplus.
I am no fan of either party. In fact, I am a member of ALStatesmen, the Alabama chapter of the Boston Tea Party, but since such an unfair characterization was printed, it had to be addressed.
